September 2021 Newsletter
The officers of the Sun Terrace Neighborhood Association welcome you to this page on the web site. If you are reading this you either live, own property, or own a business in Sun Terrace.
From time to time we will update this NEWS page with pertinent information, for those who live or own property in Sun Terrace. The items may be as a certain issue on a certain street within Sun Terrace, such as an issue about a certain street in Sun Terrace; or maybe something that we think might affect those living in Sun Terrace but being done in an area outside the boundaries of Sun Terrace; or maybe something major that affects all of the City. Below are listed a number of items of interest to get this edition #1 started .
A. Leaf Blowers. Beginning Oct 21,2021 the use of gasoline powered leaf blowers is prohibited within the City of Naples. Battery and electric powered leaf blowers may be used provided they do not exceed a decibel level of 65dBA as shown on the manufacturers label affixed to the leaf blower. This prohibition covers not only the licensed companies that perform yard service to residential and commercial property within the City BUT also to private individuals performing yard maintenance on their own property. Those violating this ban will receive a civil violation ticket that could result in a fine. However, for the first few months only warnings will be issued. Questions regarding this matter can be directed to City Parks and Recreation 239-213- 7120
B. Horticultural Waste. You may have noticed the different lettering on the sides of the truck that comes by to pick up yard waste. A few months ago the City did not renew its contract with the company that performed this service, but instead took it "in house". It is our understanding that there will not be a change in schedule of pick up days for this service. Questions regarding this matter can be directed to City Utilities 239-213-4745.
C. Short Term Rental. The City Code Enforcement is working diligently to enforce City Code violations that are taking place regarding short term rentals. If you have any problems or concerns about this issue please contact the City Code Enforcement Department 239-213-5030
D Beach Re-nourishment and Dune Restoration. We are in for another Big beach re-nourishment on our Beaches within the City this year. This is managed by the County with input from Naples City .Present plans call for the work to begin in November and go on for several months. Unlike the last truck hall that took place at three locations within the City ( Lowdermilk Park, beach end on Gulfshore Blvd North(GSBN) just south of Parkshore, and GSBN at Seagate, current plans for this years Lowdermilk park dumping site will be at the beach end at 3rd Ave North. Dune Restoration of the dune and vegetation off the dunes north of Lowdermilk Park to the south jetty of Doctors Pass will take place beginning Sept 7th and be finished by Sept 10th. Park will remain open during this work. Questions on both of these beach projects can be directed to the County's Coastal Zone Management office 239-252-2966
